14 May 2015 - Great War 1915.The Centenary of the First World War was marked by another set of 6 stamps and prestige stamp book. In addition to the new stamps and a definitive pane, the book included a pane of 4 stamps showing an Observer in the Royal Field Artillery 1917, originally issued in the 2007 British Army Uniforms set and prestige book.
The 2007 stamp was printed by Joh Enschede en Zonen in litho; the new stamp was printed by Cartor Security Print also in litho. The stamp pane will certainly be listed in the catalogue; the single stamp may also have a new catalogue number as it is from a new printer.
The three different versions of this stamp are shown below. The current version (centre) is much darker than either of the two earlier versions from 2007.
