2 March 2009 Design Classics Concorde Smilers Sheet Royal Mail first day coverThis Smilers Sheet marks the 40th anniversary of the first flight of the Concorde Supersonic Airliner. Using the stamp issued in the Design Classics set, the 20 labels have a variety of pictorial and informative labels.
As the original sheet stamps were printed by Cartor this is essentially the same stamp. Of note is the placement of the stamp in the sheet - the first Smilers sheet to have the stamps to the left of the labels.
A single stamp (various labels available) on the original Design Classics FDC showing the mini-car, is cancelled with the either
- 40th Anniversary of Concorde's First Flight, Filton, Bristol (circular) postmark or
- 40th Anniversary Filton (rectangular)
