1 March 2007 - World of Invention MS on Royal Mail first day coverThis miniature sheet in the World of Invention stamp issue comprises of six stamps featuring landmarks in engineering and technology. Each of the inventions is illustrated in by Guardian cartoonist Peter Till with formatting and typography by Peter Willberg. The sheet has water-activated gum and thus these stamps are not the same as those issued in normal sheets.
The stamps show Thomas Telford's bridges, the railway network, the telephone (Alexander Graham Bell), television (John Logie Baird), the World Wide Web (Sir Tim Berners-Lee), and a look to space tourism in the future.
