Product Description

Switzerland 1938 postcard with 20c International Labour Office 20c stamp (Z.211) with rectangular railway postmark, SIHLBRUGGS-STAT - Bahnstempel

Real photo postcard shows Bergwirtshaft Albishorn (915m) - vertical crease to left of stamp, and lower right corner bent.

This is the postmark from the Railway Station SIHLBRUGG, a tiny village between Zug and Zurich.  Sihlbrugg has about 10 Homes, 2 Restaurants, 1 Petrol Station ....and the Rail-Station where commuters from the surrounding hills take the train to Zürich, where they work!

Wikipedia records that it "is an important transportation hub", and that the station is 3km n of the village in Horgen which has a population of nearly 20,000 !

Sihlbrugg station is in the Sihl Valley and some 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from Horgen station in a straight line, but more than 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) away by road.
