In the years preceding the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics Royal Mail issued 1 set of 10 stamps each year depicting various sports.
On each occasion a special Commemorative Sheet was also issued with an informative label adjoining each stamp. Each sheet is contained within an illustrated descriptive folder, and each sleeve bears a hologram for authenticity.
We are now offering a set of these three complete folders.
Sheet 1 (CS07): Canoe Slalom, Paralympic Games: Archery, Athletics: Track, Aquatics, Paralympic Games: Boccia, Judo, Paralympic Games: Equestrian, Badminton, Weightlifting, Basketball. The folder looks at what it takes to be an Olympic competitor, focusing on the sports featured on the stamps while taking a look at the various venues where the action will unfold.
Sheet 2 (CS10): Paralympic Rowing, Shooting, Modern Pentathlon, Taekwondo, Cycling; Paralympic Table Tennis, Hockey, Football, Paralympic Goalball, Boxing. The folder contains interviews with Olympic hopefuls including Goalball players Anna and Michael Sharkey by Richard Rae, and has braille printing on the back of the folder.
Sheet 3 (CS15): Wheelchair tennis, Fencing, Gymnastics, Triathlon, Handball; Paralympic sailing, Athletics field, Beach volleyball, Wheelchair rugby, Wrestling. The folder has more interviews with participants.
Also available is the 30-stamp composite sheet issued when Sheet 3 was issued.
