16 September 2015 - Lion Post and Go Faststamp
Originally issued on 13 May 2015 in a set of 6 different Heraldic Beasts designs, the Lion stamp was issued on a single-design roll at Autumn Stampex and at the BPMA in London.
The design is the same, and single stamps cannot be distinguished from those issued in May apart from the datastring unless collected in a multiple.
Available as a pair of 1st class Lion stamps or a Collectors Set from machine A009 or B001 at Autumn Stampex.
The lion is one of the most familiar ancient heraldic figures, or charges, often representing courage and valour in battle. The king of beasts can also signify Christ or royalty and comes in a bewildering array of poses and variations, from double-headed to crowned, wielding a sword or with a knotted tail.
