19 September 2013 - Merchant Navy, Arctic ConvoysAlongside a set of 6 multicoloured stamps Royal Mail issued a miniature sheet honouring the Arctic and Atlantic Convoys of World War 2.
The set of stamps and the miniature sheet also featured in a prestige stamp book (PSB), with 4 x 1st class stamps depicting (clockwise from top left):
- Escorting destroyer HMS Vanoc in an Atlantic convoy;
- merchant ship passing the Naval Control Base in the Thames Estuary;
- naval convoy of 24 merchant ships in the North Sea;
- sailors clearing the decks of HMS King George V in Arctic waters.
This is the Convoys pane from the PSB - as the pane has a different background to the miniature sheet, the individual stamps are listed are listed as SG 3525-8.
