23 October 2012 Self-adhesive Lest We Forget stamp
For 2012 Royal Mail needed a new Lest We Forget stamp as stocks of the gummed se-tenant strip issued in 2008 were insufficient to exhausted.
The definitive-sized poppy stamp introduced to the Smilers system in 2010 has been used. However instead of being sent to the whole Post Office branch network it was on restricted circulation.
According to Post Office Ltd:
These stamps have been distributed to around 1000 branches, including all Crown* offices, and those with philatelic counters. They have also been distributed to selected offices near military bases and are available to all branches to order via the Horizon system.
