2914a.6 1st class deep scarlet counter sheet printing M16L on SBP2
In October 2016 Royal Mail changed the colour of the 1st and 1st Large red stamps to a darker colour. Commonly this is described as dark red; Stanley Gibbons describe it as bright scarlet (with the original being vermilltion). We describe it as deep scarlet. Booklets and business sheets were sold as new issues in October.
Printing of counter sheets was trialled in December 2016, and reported in Stamp Magazine.
A few sheets were found during 2017, but their distribution was not widespread. More were found in early 2018 and we now have sufficient to make these available. Unfortunately supplies are still low, and cylinder and date blocks are not available at this time.
