Product Description

6 April 2004 - Entente Cordiale Joint Issue with France - Royal Mail FDC

The Centenary of the Entente Cordiale between the United Kingdom and France was commemorated by Royal Mail and La Poste by the issue of a set of two stamps in both countries, featuring contemporary British and French paintings.

The 28p and 0,75euro stamps feature 'Lace 1 (trial proof) 1968' by Sir Terry Frost, while the 57p and 0,50 euro stamps show 'Coccinelle' by Sonia Delaunay.

The French stamps are cancelled with the Paris first day postmark showing crossed flags; the UK stamps are cancelled with postmark of Parliament Square, London, showing Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower.
