Product Description

A multi-view photographic card distributed by the Canadian government office in London to encourage emigration to Canada.

The scenes depicted are Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alta. (a postcard was published using the same negative as this); Wheat fields near Clover Bar, Alta, ; Bridge over Kaministiqua, Fort William, Ontario; Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.

The card has no printer or publisher imprint or any other identifying marks other than the inscription on the front which reads:

"Send post card for further information & free illustrated literature to:
J. Obed Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Emigration, 11-12 Charing Cross, London SW"

Smith is also described on websites as A S of Immigration.

Condition - the corner cracks in the glaze are evident in the image.

Postally used at Twickenham England, 9 Aug 1913 to Kensington
